Election offices established in Capital

SEPT 17, KATHMANDU. Election offices have been established for the first-past-the-post election and proportional for the election to the second Constituent Assembly (CA).
The Election Commission (EC) informed that election offices have been set up in 240 constituencies across the country for direct election.
The EC has already concluded orientation on the issue of CA election by appointing chief election officers and election officers to be assigned in 240 constituencies. It has established office in Kathmandu for proportional election.
The EC has appointed Secretary of the EC, Narendra Dahal, as an election officer for the same. The date for the next CA election has been fixed for November 19.
With the establishment of election offices, election activities have increased and the EC has forwarded activities related to election as per the schedule.
As many as 130 political parties have been registered at EC for the participation in the election. The election offices have been set up in every constituency for the parties wanting to register candidacy and independent candidacy towards direct election.
The EC has already sent a letter to the officers at the District Offices and Chief District Officers to provide all necessary support to their respective Office of the Election Officer.
Meanwhile, Office of the Election Officer has now been established at the premises of the Kathmandu Election Office for the 10 constituencies of Kathmandu. The office is going to be shifted at International Convention Centre at New Baneswor or at City Hall due to lack of enough area, it is learnt. RSS
